Privacy policy
Your data is yours. Here's the plain version.
We wrote this the way we'd want to read it: short, no legalese, no surprises. Last updated: September 2026.
What we collect
- Account basics: your name, email address, and if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the ID those services give us.
- Your resume and everything we extract from it: skills, work history, education, certifications, and your phone number if you add one.
- How you use Jobsman: jobs you save, jobs you mark as applied, and the filters you search with.
- Technical bits: your browser stores an access token locally so you stay signed in. That's it. No ad trackers, no cross-site cookies, no fingerprinting.
How we use it
- Matching: we compare your profile against job listings to show you fit scores and explanations.
- Keeping you signed in and your saved jobs synced across visits.
- Email: verification codes and the occasional welcome message. We don't send marketing blasts.
- Fixing things: logs that help us debug errors don't include your resume or profile content.
Who touches your data
- Resume parsing and match scoring: when you upload a resume, the text is processed by AI providers (OpenAI) to extract structured fields and compute match scores. They process it transiently; they don't get to keep or train on your data under our agreements.
- Job data: most job listings on Jobsman are publicly available postings collected from company career pages and job boards. Employers can also post roles directly. We do not collect personal data about third parties from public job postings beyond the listing content itself.
- Employer accounts: if you sign up as an employer, we collect your work email, company details, and job postings you create. Applications submitted to your jobs include the candidate's name, email, phone, cover note, screening answers, and resume.
- Email delivery: Resend carries our transactional email.
- Sign-in: Google and GitHub only tell us that you authenticated. We never see their passwords.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your profile with employers, advertisers, or anyone else. When you apply to a job, the employer sees your application materials through our platform.
Cookies & local storage
- We store a signed-in token in your browser's local storage, and small session cookies only during Google/GitHub sign-in. Clearing your browser storage logs you out.
Deleting your data
- You can delete your account anytime from the Profile page. It's a hard delete: your profile, resume, saved jobs, applications, and sign-in records are removed permanently. We keep one audit line, a hash of your email and the deletion date, so we can confirm compliance. No personal data remains.
- You can sign up again later with the same email; it will be a brand-new, empty account.
Questions
- Anything about privacy, data requests, or account issues: email privacy@jobsman.co. We take this seriously and reply quickly.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll say so here and update the date above.
