About the role
The role involves functional testing of WLAN features and Wi-Fi protocols across IEEE 802.11 standards. It requires packet-level analysis, traffic-generation tooling, and automation scripting in Python, Perl, or TCL. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects.
What you will do
- Execute functional testing of WLAN features (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be)
- Work on Wi-Fi protocols including WPA2/WPA3, MU-MIMO, OFDMA, Beamforming, MLO, and Roaming
- Utilize tools like Spirent, Ixia, Chariot, Veriwave, iperf for traffic generation and analysis
- Perform packet-level analysis using Wireshark, Omnipeek, or similar
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, isolate, and resolve defects
- Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Perl, or TCL
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Strong knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards
- 2 - 4 years of hands-on test experience in WLAN domain
- Familiarity with wired networking (Ethernet) is a plus
- Good understanding of networking layers (L1-L3)
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments
- Automation scripting skills (Python/Perl/TCL) are mandatory
- Knowledge on Easymesh, Mesh topology etc.
