About the role
Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs helps clients worldwide reach their financial goals through advisor-led financial planning, investment management and banking, alongside a consumer business offering digital spend, borrow, invest and save solutions. The Private Lending Services (PLS) team is a control middle office team in PWM operations that supports the PWM Private Lending organization in originating loans through GS Bank USA and GS International Bank to PWM clients and Private Equity Firms across the Americas, EMEA and Asia, and ensures regulatory compliance through the life of each loan. This Associate role partners with lending, credit, legal and financing teams on loan application, origination and ongoing servicing while driving process efficiency and control in a growing business.
What you will do
- Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of the private lending organization by interacting with Regional Lending Managers, Private Lending Underwriters, Credit, Legal, Global Client Financing, and other operations teams in the Americas, EMEA and Asia
- Partner with PWM PWAs and WMPS to assist clients in the application, origination and ongoing servicing of loans within the portfolio
- Showcase strong control and risk management strategies to ensure compliance with GS Bank USA (the most regulated entity at GS) while still providing excellent client service to PWM and Institutional clients
- Develop strategies and opportunities for process efficiencies to reduce manual tasks while increasing control in a rapidly growing business
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in financial services
- Experience supporting loan products, preferably within private lending, commercial lending or a related secured lending environment
- Working knowledge of the end-to-end loan lifecycle, including origination, booking, funding, servicing, amendments and ongoing maintenance
- Experience in loan operations or a Loan Data Quality (LDQ) function, with exposure to data validation, reconciliations, exception management and issue remediation
- Understanding of regulatory reporting data requirements and the importance of complete, accurate and timely loan data; exposure to regulatory reporting processes is preferred
- Proven client service skills, teamwork and a sense of urgency to fulfill time sensitive and highly confidential tasks
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with senior business leaders within cross divisional a team
- Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability for projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
