About the role
The Commercial & Investment Bank technology team leads complex technology projects and programs that support business goals and client outcomes. The role focuses on technical program and project management, including project planning, risk and issue management, stakeholder communication, governance, and responsible use of enterprise-authorized AI. The Technical Project Manager III will work with application owners, software engineering, quality assurance, production support, and Global Technology stakeholders to deliver high-impact technology projects.
What you will do
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, dependencies and timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery of technology projects and programs
- Drive disciplined intake and prioritization, consistently questioning scope and rationale to ensure work has a clear business benefit and/or risk remediation outcome
- Identify, track and mitigate project risks and issues, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing risk management strategies to minimize impact on outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application owners, software engineering, quality assurance, production support and Global Technology stakeholders, to define scope, objectives, success measures and deliverables aligned to business goals and risk posture
- Leverage a technology/application development background to engage credibly with technical teams, challenge assumptions constructively and help translate delivery needs into actionable plans
- Monitor progress, adjust plans and schedules as needed and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project or program lifecycle
- Influence decision-makers and delivery partners outside of your direct organization, using strong facilitation, structured problem-solving and clear escalation paths to unblock delivery and drive outcomes
- Promote practical, reuse-first governance and reporting practices (e.g., standardized RAID, status, milestones), ensuring outputs are accurate, decision-useful and aligned to delivery standards
- Proactively identify process and tooling improvements, leveraging existing capabilities (including enterprise-authorized AI where appropriate) to strengthen program governance (e.g., implementing lead and lag indicators), reduce delivery risk and ensure clear commitments and execution status visibility across stakeholders at varying levels
- Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate project planning and risk synthesis (e.g., drafting plans, RAID, and status narratives), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity requirements.
- Promotes reuse-first, AI-assisted practices for project governance artifacts and reporting, ensuring human review and alignment to delivery standards.
