About the role
The Geo team builds the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for users through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform, serving more than a billion people monthly while enabling developers to build on Google Maps platforms. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners. This role focuses on building scalable technical and operational solutions and data pipeline improvements that produce large volumes of high quality data powering Google Maps.
What you will do
- Manage large technical projects from concept to launch, develop and coordinate realistic project estimates, plans, or metrics; work and communicate effectively with engineering, product management, QA, operations and other stakeholders.
- Understand Google Geo products, internal tools, processes and data schema and leverage those to push automation and increase work efficiency and automation.
- Develop technical solutions that help automate and improve operational efficiencies.
- Leverage technical acumen and developer skills to analyze trends in date, develop data pipeline improvements and elegant technical solutions.
- Build scalable and intelligent technical and operational solutions to produce large volumes of high quality data that powers Google Maps.
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or other related technical fields.
- Experience in mapping technologies and or mapping operations.
- Track record of defining measurements and data quality metrics.
- Data analytics skills and experience in data management.
- Process improvement skills, lean, six sigma and agile experience.
- Strong technical and business acumen with an ability to solve data and operational problems with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
