About the role
Barclays is a global bank, and this role sits within its technology product organisation in Pune, collaborating with product owners and technical teams to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap. The role focuses on the customer Apply journey and fraud detection journey, covering product vision, roadmaps, business capabilities, fraud loss reduction and technical sustainability. The Technical Product Owner works with delivery squads on user stories, process flows, data dictionaries, backlog refinement and agile ceremonies, while managing fraud risk and control expectations.
What you will do
- Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
- Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
- Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
- Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.
- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

- Hands on knowledge of Apply journey and Fraud detection journey.
- Own and evolve the product vision, define and maintain product roadmaps, produce MVP, business capabilities, fraud loss reduction, customer experience, and technical sustainability objectives.
- Create business user stories, high level process flows to enable engagement with delivery squad.
- Provide ongoing support throughout build and create data dictionary and validation of data for business capabilities.
- Drive backlog management, refinement, support agile ceremonies, stakeholder expectation management and understanding of fraud risk & control framework.
Preferred qualifications
- Working experience on re-platforming, migration and data driven back-end project.
- AI assisted functional & tech spec driven product management.
- Drive for process improvement, excellent soft skills and risk management.
