About the role

The role sits within Schneider Electric's electronics hardware test function supporting UPS products, qualifying and approving products, equipment and systems against current standards. It involves functional testing of UPS units through automated LabVIEW-based testers, elaboration of test plans, procedures and reports, and management of the production facility's test equipment. The position also leads a team of skilled technical personnel and produces management reports on status and progress.

What you will do

  • Electronics Hardware, Test Engineer : Fulfills technical missions, with autonomy to propose/develop solutions in a technical domain. Work is given through general guidelines. Conducts functional tests .Write tests procedures, test reports and maintained documentation. (What is the expected contributions of the position to the results of the organization) Responsible for the functional testing of UPS through automated testers based on lab view.
  • Make available with the required methods and quality the relevant test means and skills used to test, qualify and approve products, equipment and systems according to current rules and standards.

  • Defines the verification and validation features and sampling

  • Knows all the functionalities of the product/system, and the core function capabilities of all its sub-assemblies/components.
  • Knows the standards to apply and their impact on the product/ system design.
  • Is able to characterize and design all interfaces between subassemblies/ components, and to adapt the sub-assemblies design to optimize product/system performance.
  • Understands industrial constraints and is able to adapt the product/system design towards manufacturability/feasibility and optimized manufacturing costs.

  • Chooses the most suitable methods & tool to generate deliverables (models, simulations, drawings, ...) in order to optimize engineering performanceand product or system cost.
  • Uses the most relevant methods & tool package(s) to fulfill his/her engineering activities successfully (requirement fulfillment, design, configuration management, change management, simulation, design, ...).
  • Optimizes his/her activities and the management of the interfaces with the other disciplines by using the tools suitable packages, data base, ....
  • Creates or re-uses product or system data to be gathered (or shared) from (or to) different project stakeholders during the complete product or system life cycle.

  • Others (e.g. language skills, technical skills): Good in managing team consisting of skilled and technical personnel.
