About the role
Qualcomm's Engineering Group (Software Engineering) builds embedded and cloud edge software for next-generation, cutting-edge products, with engineers collaborating across systems, hardware, architecture, and test teams to design system-level software solutions. This staff-level role targets low-level embedded work including Linux kernel and driver development, BSP and boot code development, and low-level debugging on ARM-based platforms. The engineer also contributes to software design, secure coding practices, and implementation using C/C++ (with Python exposure).

What the employer is looking for
- 8+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, exposure to Python, etc.
- 5+ years development experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc..
- 5+ years professional work experience in embedded software, driver development, OS like Linux/Android/QNX any RTOS etc.
- 5+ years experience with low level software/ interface and debugging.
- 5+ years experience with industry standard software development tools: HSW/HE debuggers, code revision systems (GIT, Gerrit, Perforce), IDEs and build tools.
- Experience in Secure Coding , software design and implementation levels.
- Strong OS fundamentals. Linux and kernel development a strong plus
- Experience with ARM architecture is added advantage.
- Experience in BSP development.
- Experience with low level device driver programming, boot code development
- Familiar with Modern OO design practices, such as C++11/17, a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and team player
- Should be self motivated and self driven
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 7+ years of experience with Database Management Software.
- 7+ years of experience with API.
- 7+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System
