About the role
Infineon develops semiconductor solutions for power systems and IoT, including wireless connectivity products. The WLAN MAC design team develops high-performance digital systems and modules for advanced wireless products, working with RTL, AMBA/PCIe interfaces, CDC/RDC analysis, and synthesis. This role covers WLAN MAC RTL design, PPA optimization, design integration, and collaboration with architecture, verification, and software teams.
What you will do
- Design and develop WLAN MAC digital systems and modules for advanced wireless products.
- Create high-quality RTL designs using Verilog/VHDL and ensure functional correctness.
- Optimize designs for Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) targets.
- Develop unit-level testbenches, perform simulations, and debug design issues.
- Integrate designs with industry-standard interfaces such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB) and PCIe.
- Perform CDC/RDC analysis and ensure robust cross-domain functionality.
- Execute synthesis and support timing, power, and area closure activities.
- Collaborate with architecture, verification, and software teams throughout the product development cycle.
- Prepare design specifications, technical documentation, and status reports.
- Conduct design reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in RTL design and digital hardware development.
- Proven expertise in WLAN MAC design and wireless communication systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Verilog/VHDL, FPGA/ASIC design flows, and synthesis methodologies.
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals and high-speed interface protocols such as AMBA and PCIe.
- Experience with EDA tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics).
- Knowledge of CDC/RDC analysis, timing closure, and low-power design techniques.
- Familiarity with IEEE 802.11n/ac/ax/be WLAN standards.
- Scripting knowledge in Python or Perl is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Benefits and support
- Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
