About the role
The role sits within Bosch's embedded automotive software development group, working on a custom Simulink-based embedded code-generation platform for ECU software. The team adapts TLC templates, integrates generated C code with the Green Hills compiler toolchain, and covers hardware I/O, CAN/J1939, diagnostics, NVM, and calibration services. This senior developer will develop the code-generation environment, build Simulink block libraries, validate generated code, and drive the team technically in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you will do
- Custom Platform Development: Develop and maintain a custom Simulink embedded code-generation environment.
- TLC Template Adaptation: Adapt block-level and system-level TLC templates to interface seamlessly with new C APIs.
- Compiler Integration: Integrate Simulink-generated C code with the Green Hills compiler toolchain.
- Build System Management: Configure compiler options, linker settings, memory sections, and build scripts.
- Block Library Development: Develop Simulink libraries, masked blocks, custom C S-functions, and build callbacks.
- Hardware & Protocol Integration: Integrate hardware I/O, CAN/J1939, diagnostics, non-volatile memory (NVM), and calibration services.
- Interface & Validation: Analyze differences between legacy and new embedded software interfaces; validate generated code, data types, initialization sequences, and API parameters.
- System-Level Debugging: Debug issues across Simulink models, TLC processing, generated C code, compilation, linking, and ECU execution.
- Automated Testing: Develop automated tests for code generation pipelines and embedded builds.
- Documentation: Create technical documentation and support application developers.
- Create and maintain clear and detailed documentation for all developed functional components.
- Configure faults with groups & reactions for commissioning & diagnostics functioning.
- Supporting end customer for clarifications/issue resolution.
- Able to drive the team technically.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop features, and deliver high-quality embedded software solutions in alignment with project objectives.
- Assess skill gaps in the Team Members, identify On Job Training, deliver OJT to new colleagues.
