About the role
The role sits within BA ISC and reports to the Director of Operational Excellence, focused on establishing transparency and accountability across all material master touch points. It is a business analysis and process-excellence position centered on SAP S/4HANA transformation, process mining, and master data governance across supply chain, procurement, planning, manufacturing, sales, finance, and IT. The analyst will own end-to-end material master process analysis, define RACI and SLA frameworks, and translate process-mining insights into a prioritized simplification and transformation roadmap.
What you will do
- Own end-to-end business analysis for material creation, extension, and change processes across BA ISC, including upstream requests, approvals, execution, validation, and downstream use.
- Document current-state processes through value-stream maps, swim lanes, standard work, business rules, handoffs, dependencies, controls, and exception paths in partnership with the process mining analyst.
- Develop, secure stakeholder agreement on, and maintain a clear RACI that assigns one accountable owner for each process activity, decision, control, and escalation.
- Define and manage the SLA framework, including start and stop points, functional inputs, targets, measurement logic, service performance, escalation thresholds, and corrective-action routines.
- Clarify cross-functional data and process inputs required from Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, IT, and Master Data Management.
- Facilitate workshops and governance forums that resolve ownership gaps, align priorities, document decisions, and convert issues into accountable actions with owners and due dates.
- Partner with the Process Mining Specialist to establish event-log requirements, validate process variants, identify rework and bottlenecks, quantify cycle-time loss, and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Translate findings into future-state processes, business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, control requirements, and an executable transformation roadmap.
- Challenge unnecessary approvals, duplicate inputs, manual touchpoints, regional variation, and non-value-added complexity before recommending automation.
- Support SAP S/4HANA fit-to-standard activities by assessing process and data impacts, documenting gaps and decisions, and ensuring redesigned workflows align with enterprise standards and governance.
- Develop KPI and SLA dashboards, performance narratives, root-cause analyses, and leadership-ready recommendations that enable fact-based decisions.
- Coordinate pilots, user acceptance testing, change readiness, training inputs, implementation, and benefits tracking for approved improvements.
- Maintain process documentation, decision logs, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and governance artifacts as controlled and current records.
- Approved end-to-end process architecture and swim lanes for material creation, extension, and changes.
- Published and actively governed RACI covering all major activities, decisions, controls, and escalation paths.
- Documented SLA framework with agreed definitions, accountable owners, functional contribution measures, and review cadence.
- Baseline of request volume, cycle time, queue time, rework, exception rates, SLA attainment, and data-quality performance.
- Prioritized simplification roadmap supported by process-mining evidence, quantified benefits, dependencies, and implementation owners.
- Measurable reduction in handoff delays, rework, unresolved ownership, duplicate effort, and end-to-end lead time.
- Improved readiness for SAP S/4HANA through standardized processes, stronger governance, cleaner requirements, and fewer unnecessary variants.
