About the role
AWS Professional Services (ProServe) APJC delivers complex, multi-work stream cloud transformation programs for enterprise customers across ANZ, ASEAN, India, Korea, and Japan. This Senior Engagement Manager role owns the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of large cloud engagements, shaping cloud strategy with frameworks such as the Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders. The position leads matrixed teams of AWS consultants, partners, and customer resources, contributes to pre-sales, and applies AI/Gen AI to delivery innovation, based in India with 30-40% travel to customer sites in APJC.
What you will do
- Own and lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-workstream cloud transformation programs, ensuring business outcomes are achieved within schedule, scope, and financial constraints.
- Shape and validate cloud delivery strategies for complex engagements, applying frameworks such as the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Well-Architected Framework (WAF), and Engagement Delivery Framework (EDF).
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior customer stakeholders, leading steering committees, driving alignment, and building deep trusted relationships.
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues; develop and execute mitigation plans; redirect distressed programs to delight customers.
- Maximize engagement value by negotiating conditions of acceptance, managing scope changes, and amending contractual terms within project constraints.
- Drive delivery excellence across engagements by defining and sharing EM best practices, creating reusable mechanisms, and establishing operational excellence.
- Actively mentor and develop team members; perform Technical Promotion Assessments (TPAs) and coach Engagement Managers to raise the bar.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, contributing to proposals, scoping, and business development for complex services engagements.
- Leverage Agentic AI and GenAI to optimize delivery processes, improve team productivity, and drive innovative customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional AWS teams including Delivery Consultants, Account Executives, Cloud Architects, and Partner teams to solution and deliver cloud programs.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 7+ years of leading multiple Agile teams (like Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale experience
- 7+ years of leading and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements experience
- Knowledge of the value proposition of the public cloud and cloud engagement delivery (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience with Agile and project management toolsets like Jira, Rally, VersionOne or Taiga
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 7+ years of project/program management experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
- PMP, Prince2, PgMP, SAFe or SCRUM/Agile certification
- 9+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
- AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
- Partner delivery experience — enabling and managing delivery through third-party partners
