About the role

Nokia's Quality function is responsible for aligning quality strategy with business goals and acting as an advocate for the customer on requirements, feedback, satisfaction, and loyalty. The team tailors processes, establishes quality assurance guidelines, and translates them into policies, procedures, and methods covering services, products, materials, and components in line with Nokia's quality policy. This Specialist - Operations Quality role in Chennai drives quality planning, assurance, control, risk management, and continuous improvement across engineering and operational functions, reviewing processes across speed, cost, efficiency, reliability, utilization, and value dimensions.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement quality strategies, policies, and processes aligned with business goals and Nokia quality standards.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by driving initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, quality performance, and service excellence.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve processes across key performance dimensions including efficiency, reliability, cost, speed, and value.
  • Lead quality planning, assurance, control, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operational functions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality requirements, industry standards, regulatory obligations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and quality expertise to cross-functional teams while promoting best practices and capability development.
  • Analyze complex quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve business outcomes.

What the employer is looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • 8 plus years of experience in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Process Excellence, or Engineering Quality functions.
  • Expertise in quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with quality frameworks and methodologies such as ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar standards.
