About the role
Cisco's Next Generation Firepower Threat Defence (FTD) team within the Security Business Group builds a flagship NGFW appliance that integrates ASA Firewall services and the SNORT IPS engine, focused on scalable threat detection and mitigation. The India FTD team is transforming its test organization using an AI-accelerated SDLC model. This technical leader role owns the test and automation charter across new and existing firewall functionality, covering feature interaction, system and solution testing, deep OS integration, and customer deployment focus.
What you will do
- Lead the Test & Automation charter of the new & existing functionality in the Product with deep focus on Feature Interaction, P&S, System & Solution Testing and Customer deployment focus. Accelerate Product development test cycle velocity multi-fold by fully embracing AI & Spec Driven Development model.
- Ability to focus on deep internal aspects of the feature and its integration with the OS
- Should learn new features, technologies and platforms in a relatively short amount of time
- Automate tests using FTL and Integrate them into Regression
- Work closely with customer support to provide timely resolution of problems
Skills used in this role

- 8+ years of experience in Networking/Security Domain Development & Testing, proven as a Leader & Domain expert
- Proficient in TCP/IP Networking, Routing Protocols, Access Control Policies, NAT, Carrier grade NAT, SDWAN, VPN, ZTNA, Network management, IPv6
- Expertise on Network security (L3-L7 Inspection, Intrusion prevention / Intrusion detection / IPSEC and SSL / TLS)
- Experience and knowledge on - Routing & Switching (OSPF / BGP / EIGRP / VLAN / STP / DHCP / multicast)
- Should have worked in Virtual technologies (ESXi, KVM, AWS, Azure, OCI)
- Hands on experience with Legitimate and Malware Application Traffic generator tools, Linux, Windows, Packet tracer, Wireshark and tcpdump Tools
- Familiar with - Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Juniper, Fortinet products preferred
- Strong automation background on Python, Java etc.
- Should have experience in UI & API based test automation
- Experience in DevOps, Continuous integration and Continuous delivery tools are made valuable contributions.
- Above all, expertise in AI, AI Tools and AI based SDLC.
