About the role
Nokia's Autonomous Networks engineering team builds a next-generation Core Network Management System that helps telecom operators proactively prevent network failures and reduce Mean Time to Resolve. The cloud-native platform ingests and processes massive-scale telemetry, performance, fault, configuration, and operational data from thousands of network functions, using Kubernetes, microservices, a data lake architecture, AI/ML-driven analytics, automated Root Cause Analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive insights. This role drives the end-to-end quality engineering strategy for Core Management System functional areas, leading test automation framework design, functional and non-functional validation, and quality initiatives across cloud-native, microservices-based solutions.
What you will do
- Drive the end-to-end quality engineering strategy for Core Management System functional areas, ensuring delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-quality cloud-native solutions.
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of test automation frameworks and quality validation solutions across functional and non-functional domains.
- Define and champion automation-first quality practices across CI/CD pipelines, improving release quality, engineering efficiency, and delivery predictability.
- Leverage AI-powered test automation and quality engineering tools to enhance test coverage, accelerate defect detection, and improve overall testing effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to identify quality risks, establish quality standards, and drive continuous quality improvements throughout the software lifecycle. Mentor and provide technical leadership to QA and automation engineers, fostering a quality-first culture and adoption of modern testing methodologies and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvements in automation frameworks, test strategies, observability-driven validation, and quality engineering processes to support evolving business and technology needs.
- In the extended role as a Scrum Master of a SAFe agile team, you'll help the team to plan and execute in delivering the team's objectives as per the committments.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Engineering Degree with 8+ years of experience with experience in test automation, quality engineering, and validation of cloud-native applications, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Microservices, and Distributed Systems.
- Expertise in designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks for functional, integration, system, API, performance, reliability, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on experience validating large-scale data ingestion, ETL, streaming, and event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, ClickHouse, VictoriaMetrics, and MariaDB.
- Strong knowledge of Observability and Telemetry platforms, including validation of OpenTelemetry, OTLP, PromQL/VMQL, metrics, logs, traces, and monitoring workflows.
- Understanding of Telecom Network Management, SNMP, 3GPP standards, and Network Function monitoring with the ability to validate fault, performance, configuration, and operational workflows.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, test automation pipelines, containerised deployments, and quality gates using tools such as Jenkins, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Experience driving non-functional testing including scalability, performance, resiliency, reliability, failover, and high-availability validation in distributed environments.
- Candidates with prior Scrum Master experience are preferred.
Benefits and support
- Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
