About the role
Honeywell is hiring a Software Engineer I in Bengaluru to design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using C# and .NET. The role focuses on building and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services backed by SQL and relational databases, following software engineering best practices. The engineer will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams and apply foundational knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and LLMs where relevant to software development.
What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using C# and .NET.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Work with SQL and relational databases for application development.
- Troubleshoot software issues and contribute to improving application quality and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Follow software engineering best practices and use Git/version control.
- Apply basic knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and LLMs where relevant to software development.

- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Exposure to Azure/cloud technologies is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
