About the role
Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale, and this role sits on a team responsible for a core component of Google Cloud's Zero Trust security model, which requires continuous authentication and authorization for every access request. Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions and tools used by customers in more than 200 countries and territories. As a software engineer, the role works on a specific project critical to Google's needs, writing product or system development code, participating in or leading design reviews, reviewing code, and triaging product or system issues.
What you will do
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. Experience with security protocols and technologies.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles. Experience with OAuth 2.0.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and runtimes (e.g., k8s, Cloud Run, Load Balancers).
