About the role
Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale, spanning areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, owning the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure, and building central solutions that break down technical barriers across the company. This role works on a specific project critical to Google's needs, writing and reviewing product or system development code and triaging issues across hardware, network, and service operations.
What you will do
- Write product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in backend coding languages such as GOLang, Rust, or Java.
- Experience in ML model coding languages (e.g., Python).
