About the role
Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale, spanning areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence and mobile. Google Distributed Cloud aims to deliver solutions for a subset of very large customers with strict regulatory requirements, addressing a major opportunity for Google Cloud. This role joins the Virtual Machine (VM) team, a central part of the infrastructure, to help build the product early in its lifecycle and enable more effective deployment and operation of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped.
What you will do
- Design and develop skills to build features to enable more effective deployment and operation of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped.
- Review design documents and code written by other engineers, and provide feedback to ensure best practices. Work with partner teams to accelerate development and delivery of the platform.
- Collaborate with other engineers, Product Managers (PMs), and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to deliver a high-quality system.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content, and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues, and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Leverage AI to carry out core responsibilities effectively.
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with programming in Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP etc.).
