About the role
The Platform Engineering & AI Enablement team develops the enterprise's AI backbone, including MCP servers, authentication frameworks, and multi-agent systems, deploying an AI development platform organization-wide so AI agents are secure, observable, and governable at scale. This Software Engineer II role sits in the AI enablement team, building backend services that support enterprise AI initiatives across MCP server development, AuthN/AuthZ frameworks, API governance, and orchestration platforms. The position offers ownership of production systems and growth in a rapidly evolving area of enterprise software.
What you will do
- Designing, building, and maintaining backend services and APIs supporting enterprise agentic AI initiatives.
- Developing and enhancing Model Context Protocol servers, incorporating internal and external tools and data sources into the agent ecosystem.
- Implementing AuthN/AuthZ frameworks (OAuth2/OIDC, token exchange, mTLS) to secure MCP servers, agents, and LLM traffic effectively.
- Developing Python-based services and integrating with agentic or LLM orchestration frameworks as project needs evolve.
- Governing enterprise API gateway platforms, managing MCP servers, agents, LLM usage, and implementing orchestration workflows using appropriate enterprise tools.
- Collaborating with architects, security, and platform teams to transform AI governance requirements into functional infrastructure solutions.

What the employer is looking for
- Demonstrate 3 to 5 years of backend software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Possess hands-on experience in Python, with the ability to work across backend services and AI/agent frameworks.
- Demonstrate experience in designing and building APIs, including REST and GraphQL integration.
- Demonstrate expertise with AuthN/AuthZ concepts like OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, token exchange, and mTLS, applying them in practical systems.
- Show expertise with API gateways or integration platforms, understanding microservices architecture alongside the core principles of distributed systems.
- Have exposure to MCP, event streaming platforms like Kafka, Spark, Flink, Redis, identity management, and cloud deployments using Docker/Kubernetes.
- Be self-motivated, highly responsible, and have good communication skills
