About the role
Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale, spanning distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, AI, UI design and mobile. The Google Play team, part of the Android and Mobile organization, builds cloud-powered store experiences that sync music, movies, books, apps and games across devices and the web. This role designs, develops, tests, deploys and maintains full-stack software solutions, reviews code, contributes to documentation, and triages product or system issues.
What you will do
- Write product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1 year of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, Go, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
