About the role
Microsoft Finance Engineering is part of the Commerce Finance Platform (CFP) team within Microsoft’s Engineering Enablement and Operations organization, building technology solutions and services for Microsoft Finance, Procurement, and Operations users. The team aims to transform Microsoft into a real-time enterprise using modern web, data engineering, cloud, and enterprise systems technologies. This Software Engineer role involves hands-on design and implementation, improving engineering processes, and building scalable services and web applications using .NET, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks.
What you will do
- Working hands-on with your team through design and implementation, demonstrating good engineering practices and coding along the way.
- Sharing your work and learnings with your team, Microsoft product teams, and the OSS community.
- Continuously improving our ability to deliver quality solutions by helping to evolve our engineering process.
- Stay on top of industry trends, standards from security and scalability perspective to Lead and influence design decisions to build services right ground up.
- Familiarity with Microsoft .NET technologies (C# and the .NET Framework), Web API, SQL Azure.
- Candidates should have previous experience with multiple product release cycles.
- Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, C#, OpenSource)
- Take part in daily scrums and weekly and monthly status meetings to represent as owner of the feature and provide status across teams
- Excellent written and oral communication, team skills
- Ability to handle ambiguity and collaborate across multiple groups and disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks concurrently and drive them to successful completion.
- Facilitates collaboration in a cross-group environment (i.e., global software engineering teams)
- Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and techniques.
- Designing, building, and maintaining complex web applications with a particular emphasis on pluggable micro frontend UI Architecture (interactions, styling, accessibility, etc.)
- Must have exposure in .NET core & Micro Service based architecture application development
- Must have worked on Cloud technologies specifically in the areas of App Service, Service Bus, Functions, Dev Ops. Database experience with either Azure Cosmos DB or Azure SQL. (preferred Azure cloud development)
- Work independently for Design and Code reviews to ensure consistently high level of design & implementation.
- Working with single-page architecture, front-end application using frameworks like React, Angular, redux,saga, Node.js, HTML, CSS.
