About the role
Barclays is seeking a Java/Python AWS Engineer to help evolve its digital landscape and deliver technology solutions for its banking business. The team builds and maintains large-scale applications and data infrastructure using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, microservices, CI/CD, and AWS services. The role is based in Bengaluru and involves working with engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
What you will do
- Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
- Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
- Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
- Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale applications using Java, Spring boot, React.js, microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop unit tests to ensure high code quality and maturity metrics.
- Implement scalable solutions using scaled agile methodologies.
- Ensure seamless integration with various stakeholders' systems (business, tech, and product).
- AWS and experience in solving complex business issues.
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g CloudFormation or Terraform).
- Cloud Architecture and Design.
- Security Compliance.
- Demonstrable expertise designing and building with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, IAM.
- Utilising CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Bitbucket or GitLab in order to streamline delivery of new features and fixes.
- Knowledge of programming / scripting languages such as Bash, Powershell, Python or Java.
- A working knowledge of Linux, networking, routing & firewalls etc.
