About the role
The role sits within Nokia's MantaRay Network Management product organization, which builds cloud-native telecom network management and observability platforms on technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, microservices, and AI/ML. The team drives UI transformation and carrier-grade platform design for 4G/5G core network management, including FCAPS solutions. This Software Architect will define and lead the UI architecture vision and roadmap, design scalable and secure solutions, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers across the organization.
What you will do
- Define and lead the UI architecture vision and roadmap for the cloud-native network management platform.
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available UI solutions, leveraging modern technologies and architectural patterns.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations to support long-term business goals.
- Lead architecture reviews and make key design decisions, ensuring alignment across engineering teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating closely with Product Management and stakeholders.
- Establish architectural governance, engineering standards, and best practices to maintain high-quality outputs.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in UI, cloud-native, and telecom network management technologies.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 15+ years of experience in telecom software development, with a focus on cloud-native platforms and large-scale production systems.
- Hands-on expertise in ReactJS and modern web application architectures, with a proven track record in UI design and development.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and distributed systems, including Kubernetes Operators and CRDs.
- Extensive experience in FCAPS solutions, 4G/5G Core Networks, and network functions, with a solid understanding of SNMP and 3GPP standards.
- Experience in designing telecom management and observability platforms, ensuring carrier-grade performance and security.
- Proficiency in large-scale data processing and event-driven architecture, with hands-on experience in Kafka-based streaming solutions.
- Background in DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Kubernetes operations, ensuring secure and efficient development practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and platforms is preferred, as is a proven track record of technical leadership and ownership.
