About the role

This Site Engineering role sits within Nokia's Product Validation & Test (PV&T) R&D organization, which develops and deploys optical test stations directly at manufacturing sites for optical products including coherent pluggables, TROSA, and related photonic hardware. The role serves as PV&T's working arm on the factory floor, focusing specifically on Test Station Development (TSD) for coherent pluggable and/or TROSA stations. The engineer will set up, debug, and improve test stations and drive R&D hardware, software, fixture, and procedure changes into manufacturing teams.

What you will do

  • Design, bring up, debug, and improve optical test stations for performance, reliability, and production readiness.
  • Integrate test stations into factory test flows, collaborating with manufacturing and CM teams.
  • Analyze station data to inform design improvements and test protocol enhancements.
  • Drive the implementation of R&D changes (hardware, software, procedures) into manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and repeatable test protocols, addressing compliance and safety.
  • Represent PV&T at manufacturing sites, mentoring others and resolving station issues.
