About the role
The R&D Lab team configures, designs, installs, and maintains R&D laboratory equipment and laboratory networks for use by delivery teams, and procures and integrates new products and solutions in the services laboratory. The role covers lab operations, IT management, cyber security, server and cloud infrastructure, and sustainability within a networking and telecom environment. This specialist ensures laboratory availability and physical/environmental standards and supports the integration, verification, testing, and modification of SW/HW/system components.
What you will do
- Responsible for all activities related to Lab Operation, IT Management, Cyber Security, Server infrastructure, and Sustainability.
- Align and standardize lab infra management world-wide – Implementation of common tool and processes across all labs
- Cloud infra: E.g. allocate needed resources in order to support DevOps transformation & Lab to Cloud strategy.
- Lab-IT management: Maintaining a server, network planning, coordination with IT for new network requests/modifications, outages, firewall adaptations…
- Cybersecurity implementation, monitoring, Vulnerability Management Program in order to comply with Cyber security requirement.
- Quality adherence: ESD and calibration. TL9000, ISO45000, 14000, 27000 and BCP
- Daily Lab support to all DU’s based through Ticketing system via SLA and ad hoc interventions for problem solving
- Capex & Opex – Budget Consolidation, Optimization
- Equipment Ordering, Shipment tracking, installation and registration.
- Lab Inventory Management, tracking utilization.
- Drive lab improvement program, innovation, tool enhancement.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline
- 10-12 years of experience in Networking & Telecom domain
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLAN, routing & switching)
- Experience in installation, configuration, and powering of network/telecom equipment
- Working knowledge of OS installation and security patch updates
- Hands-on experience in ticket handling with understanding of SLA concepts
- Exposure to lab/network environment management including maintenance, backups, and restoration
- Good communication skills, positive attitude; CCNA or equivalent certification is an added advantage
