About the role
Nokia's MantaRay NM team builds scalable, cloud-native software solutions in the observability domain, using modern automation frameworks and cloud-native platforms. The role involves designing, developing, and enhancing distributed applications and microservices with a strong focus on CI/CD, Kubernetes-based platforms, and DevSecOps. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own architecture and delivery end to end, drive test automation and reliability engineering, and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What you will do
- Own the end-to-end design, development, delivery, and lifecycle management of cloud-native applications, ensuring scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Lead the architecture and implementation of distributed systems components, microservices, and platform components, driving technical decisions and engineering best practices across the team.
- Champion a quality-first engineering culture by driving test automation, continuous testing, code quality, reliability engineering, and DevSecOps practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, observability, and Kubernetes-based cloud-native platforms to improve delivery velocity and system reliability.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools, agentic automation frameworks, and engineering productivity solutions to accelerate software delivery, improve quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with product and business objective.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- A Graduate/master's degree in engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering cloud-native, distributed software systems using Java (Spring Boot)/ Python.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs and microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI and/or Jenkins)
- Exposure to Agentic AI/AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, or equivalent).
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with SOAP APIs, Oracle/PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
- Proficiency in Linux shell scripting, automation, and strong development experience in Java and Python.
- Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
