About the role
Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information, building products that handle information at massive scale. YouTube works at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and creativity, giving everyone the power to share their story and connect with one another. This role provides technical leadership and guidance to the team of ~40 engineers working on the YouTube Create App in Bengaluru, setting the product roadmap, co-owning OKRs and delivery with the TLMs, and driving cross-organizational collaboration.
What you will do
- Participate in setting up the overall goal and roadmap for the coming years for this product and provide technical guidance for the team of ~40 engineers working on YouTube Create App in Bengaluru.
- Provide technical leadership, and establish and advocate for the best engineering practices across teams at YouTube.
- Provide technical mentorship and support the TLMs and TLs on the team with technical decisions.
- Co-own delivery of OKR and roadmap with the TLMs.
- Drive cross-organizational collaboration and ensure the strategy, direction, and decisions of multiple work streams are integrated, aligned, and positioned to support differentiation.
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
