About the role
Infineon is a global semiconductor leader in power systems and IoT, enabling solutions for green energy, mobility, and secure IoT. The role focuses on WLAN MAC verification for next-generation wireless solutions, working with SystemVerilog, UVM, AMBA protocols, CDC/RDC analysis, and coverage-driven methodologies. This Senior Staff Engineer will drive verification plans, build and maintain testbenches, integrate VIPs, and mentor junior engineers.
What you will do
- Develop and execute verification plans for WLAN MAC digital designs and subsystems.
- Build, enhance, and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM based verification environments and testbenches.
- Create test plans, test cases, verification scenarios, and verification documentation.
- Develop and integrate Verification IPs (VIPs) for protocols such as AMBA (AXI/AHB/APB) and PCIe.
- Drive functional, code, assertion, and coverage closure activities.
- Run regressions, debug simulation failures, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Conduct CDC/RDC verification and support gate-level simulation and sign-off activities.
- Collaborate closely with design, architecture, and software teams to ensure robust verification coverage.
- Present verification results, quality metrics, and technical reports to stakeholders.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and verification completeness.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on verification methodologies and best practices.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in digital design verification, preferably in wireless communication products.
- Strong hands-on expertise in System Verilog, UVM, and coverage-driven verification methodologies.
- Proven experience in WLAN MAC verification and understanding of IEEE 802.11 standards (11n/ac/ax/be).
- Strong knowledge of AMBA protocols, PCIe, and other high-speed interfaces.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens EDA.
- Good understanding of CDC/RDC analysis, assertion-based verification, and regression management.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, drive projects, and mentor junior engineers.
