About the role

Akamai's Zero Trust Security team develops and maintains cutting-edge security solutions for enterprise customers, collaborating with Dev, QA, DevOps, product, support, and sales engineering. The team focuses on cloud services, web applications, security standards, and network security projects. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and architect secure cloud services and web applications, build Python and GoLang backend services, and contribute to system design and architecture decisions.

What you will do

  • Developing new products and enhancing our Zero Trust solution with new features
  • Designing, developing, validating, maintaining, releasing, and operating Python and GoLang backend services
  • Reviewing and maintaining technical documents related to requirements, design, and architecture
  • Taking full ownership of your areas of work from design to deployment
  • Contributing to system design and architecture decisions
  • Mentoring junior engineers and participate actively in code reviews

What the employer is looking for

  • Have 5+ years of experience and a degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Have experience with modern authorization mechanisms and modern identity management concepts
  • Have experience building backend services using Python and Golang
  • Have working knowledge of frontend technologies to collaborate effectively with UI teams
  • Have a good understanding of microservices architecture, scalable architectures, and have work experience with RESTful APIs
  • Be familiar with relational and non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and service communications
