About the role
The team works on Nokia's telecom product R&D, delivering 4G/5G core network functionality (mainly SMF/UPF/PGW/SGW) with a focus on registers features, protocols and customer issue resolution. The domain spans telecom core network development in C/C++/Go-Lang, including NAS/S1AP/GTP/Diameter and 5G HTTP2/SBI protocols. This role leads development of medium/high complexity features, creates design specs, drives technical discussions, and owns product quality and delivery for small/medium features.
What you will do
- Lead & perform development activities of medium/high complexity features.
- Create design specs - basic/small scope/less complex.
- Support peers in completing tasks within own area(s) of expertise.
- Lead technical discussions with peers for resolving identified issues in own area(s) of expertise.
- Improves existing processes & solutions.
- Owns small/medium features.
- Realization (Analysis, Development, Implementation) of Registers features, customer issues resolutions, enhancements, change requests with Analysis, Development, Scripting, Verification.
- Handling of feature delivery & maintenance topics.
- Responsible for the product quality & deliverables for new features and handling customer issues.
- Meet the relevant project quality targets and objectives.
- Demonstrates independence and raises innovative ideas
- Contribute to R&D efficiency improvements.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- B.E/BTech/M.E/MTech in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/Information Science/Telecom.
- Must have 16+ years of experience in Telecom Development Domain.
- 4G/5G core networks hands-on development (mainly SMF/UPF/PGW/SGW).
- Expertise in C/C++/Go-Lang.
- Working Experience in protocols (4G: NAS/S1AP/GTP/DIAMETER, 5G: HTTP2, SBI etc..)
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on usage of AI to solve engineering problems.
- Good understanding of system design and scale related bottlenecks
- Understanding of Linux-based operating systems.
