About the role
The Cloud & AI organization works to secure Microsoft’s and customers’ digital platforms, devices, and clouds, while the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer manages and prioritizes cybersecurity risks for Microsoft. The team focuses on endpoint security platforms, cloud-native services, site reliability engineering, security automation, and AI-enabled engineering practices. This role leads Software Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers to build and operate secure, scalable services that strengthen endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and enterprise security posture.
What you will do
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of Software Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers building secure, scalable services and platforms for endpoint protection, device management, security operations, and enterprise security.
- Define the engineering vision, technical strategy, and architecture for endpoint security platforms spanning policy enforcement, application governance, vulnerability management, device health, security telemetry, and automated threat response.
- Drive the development of scalable, automated security capabilities that translate security policies into enforceable controls, govern application trust and privileged access, and continuously improve endpoint security posture.
- Lead vulnerability and patch management engineering, enabling risk-based prioritization, automated remediation, and measurable reduction of security exposure across enterprise environments.
- Drive automated threat containment and response capabilities that enable timely remediation, limit security incident impact, and improve organizational resilience.
- Establish and evolve site reliability engineering practices, including service-level objectives (SLOs), availability, capacity planning, resilience engineering, production readiness, and systematic reduction of operational toil for mission-critical services.
- Partner across engineering, product, identity, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to translate security requirements into integrated platform capabilities and drive execution across organizational boundaries.
- Drive execution across multiple engineering investments by managing technical priorities, dependencies, resources, and delivery commitments while balancing long-term platform strategy with near-term business objectives.
- Build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture by attracting, developing, and mentoring exceptional talent while empowering engineers to innovate, collaborate, take ownership, and grow.
