About the role
The Defender for Office 365 product group owns the protection experience for email and collaboration across Microsoft 365, spanning real-time detection, post-delivery response and recovery, investigation and hunting, and pre-breach capabilities as part of the Microsoft XDR portfolio. The team works at the intersection of protection efficacy, explainability and everyday usability for SOC analysts, email administrators and end users, with product and engineering located in IDC and ILDC within the Defender global team. This Senior Product Manager role owns a feature area end to end, shaping requirements, roadmap and success metrics while partnering with engineering, design, customers and cross-functional teams across the Defender suite.
What you will do

- Contribute to the area's strategy and roadmap in partnership with the area lead, translating product direction into a concrete plan you can deliver.
- Work directly with customers and partners, listen, validate, and turn what you hear into product decisions and roadmap input.
- Define and track success criteria for your area. Be data-driven: instrument what you ship, analyze usage, and act on what the data tells you about adoption and quality.
- Partner with marketing, business planning, customer success and support to land releases well. Documentation, readiness, outbound messaging and post-launch feedback loops.
- Work across the Defender suite, collaborating with XDR, identity, endpoint and data teams.
- Analyze customer and market signals, telemetry and support data to identify unmet needs and opportunities in your area. Evaluate trade-offs and prioritize with your cross-functional partners.
