About the role
Barclays is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer in Pune to support infrastructure and deployment pipelines and ensure robust, scalable, secure delivery of digital solutions. The role covers end-to-end performance testing, load injection, monitoring, cloud troubleshooting, and application/database resilience using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, AWS, and Azure. The engineer will design and execute test strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyse defects, and contribute to quality improvement.
What you will do
- Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
- Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

- Experience in Load Runner, Jmeter, Neoload like Load injection tools
- Experience in Appdynamics, Dynatrace like monitoring tool
- Experience in Application & Database Resilience
- Experience in Operational Acceptance Testing, Alerting & Monitoring, Accessibility Testing
- Experience in AWS or Azure Cloud and able to troubleshoot the problem

Preferred qualifications
- Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
- Self-motivated, passionate, well organized individual with demonstrated problem solving skills
- Experience in building distributed Machine Learning systems
- Familiarity with cloud technologies: OpenShift, AWS
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, tooling and automation: Chef, Jenkins
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and development of containerized applications
- Experience with project management tools: Rally, JIRA, Confluence, Stash
