About the role
The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team delivers strategic technology capabilities across digital experiences, AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications and automation. The role is an architect-level MarTech engineering position centered on Adobe Journey Optimizer, AJO Decisioning/Offer Decisioning, Adobe Experience Platform and Real-Time CDP. It leads the architecture, design and hands-on implementation of enterprise customer journey orchestration, personalization and decisioning solutions while providing technical leadership and engaging business and senior stakeholders.
What you will do
- Own the architecture, design and hands-on implementation of enterprise AJO and Decisioning/Offer Decisioning solutions.
- Architect real-time, event-triggered, audience-triggered and scheduled customer journeys, including events, audiences, actions/custom actions, conditions, channels and personalization.
- Design personalization and decisioning capabilities including eligibility, ranking, decision policies, business rules and propositions.
- Architect AEP/RTCDP solutions covering XDM schemas, datasets, identities, Real-Time Customer Profile, events, audiences and segmentation.
- Design end-to-end customer engagement solutions across Adobe Data Collection, Web/Mobile SDK, AEP, RTCDP, AJO, Decisioning and CJA.
- Architect and support enterprise integrations using REST APIs, Postman, JSON and custom actions, including authentication, payload validation and troubleshooting.
- Use SQL for data analysis, validation, reconciliation and troubleshooting.
- Drive engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, security, performance and scalability best practices.
- Provide technical and architecture leadership within Agile teams, mentor engineers and drive complex technical challenges through resolution.
- Take end-to-end accountability for technical quality, delivery, risks and business outcomes.
- Partner effectively with marketing, product, engineering, data, analytics, Adobe and implementation partners.
- Navigate ambiguity and influence across organizational boundaries to drive complex initiatives to resolution.
- Communicate architecture, strategy, progress, risks and recommendations to technical, business and senior management audiences, connecting technology decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI/Generative AI across personalization, decisioning, content, analytics, engineering productivity and customer experience.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 12+ years of technology/software engineering experience, preferably across MarTech, personalization, customer engagement, CDP, journey orchestration or enterprise application development.
- 5+ years of hands-on Adobe MarTech/Experience Cloud experience, with architect-level expertise and strong implementation capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise Adobe implementations, including substantial AJO/AEP solutions.
- Deep hands-on expertise in AJO, journey orchestration, personalization and Decisioning/Offer Decisioning.
- Strong expertise in AEP, RTCDP, XDM, datasets, Identity Service, Real-Time Customer Profile and segmentation.
- Working with knowledge of CJA, Adobe Data Collection, Web SDK, Mobile SDK, Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target.
- Strong understanding of customer identity, profiles, audiences, event-driven architecture and real-time personalization/decisioning.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, Postman, JSON, SQL and enterprise integrations.
- Experience with Agile engineering, CI/CD, automated testing and cloud-native technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, security, performance and scalability.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, influence across organizational boundaries and balance strategy, architecture and hands-on execution.
- Excellent problem-solving, ownership, executive communication, presentation and storytelling skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to adopt emerging technologies, particularly AI/Generative AI.

- Experience in one or more of the following is advantageous: Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and enterprise application development
- Relational databases and GCP Big Query
- JUnit, Cucumber, TDD and BDD
- Enterprise REST APIs and web services
- React or modern web technologies
