About the role
Schneider Electric's process automation business delivers industrial automation, control, and digital/OT solutions for customers turning sustainability and efficiency ambitions into action. The work spans process automation platforms, PLC/SCADA, safety systems, industrial communications, cloud/IoT, analytics, and AI. This role drives the design, development, and demonstration of innovative industrial automation solutions, combining solution architecture, proof-of-concept development, and direct customer engagement.
What you will do
- Design, configure, integrate, and support industrial automation systems
- Develop control strategies and system architectures aligned with customer and business requirements.
- Integrate control systems, operational technologies, and digital platforms to create scalable automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and integration challenges.
- Translate customer requirements into practical and innovative automation solutions.
- Design end-to-end architectures incorporating industrial control systems, software platforms, cloud services, analytics, and AI technologies.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Design, build, and validate proof-of-concept solutions and demonstration environments.
- Develop cases that showcase operational improvements, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Configure and integrate multiple technologies to simulate real-world industrial scenarios.
- Present and demonstrate solutions to customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
- Convert successful PoCs into scalable production-ready solutions.
- Process Automation Platforms (i.e. Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion PKS, Yokogawa CENTUM VP, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS 7, Schneider Electric)
- PLC & SCADA (i.e. Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, GE Digital, Ignition SCADA, AVEVA Wonderware)
- Safety Systems (i.e. IEC 61508, IEC 61511, Functional Safety Concepts, SIS and ESD Design)
- Industrial Communications (i.e. OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Foundation Fieldbus, HART)
- Digital & Cloud Technologies (i.e. cloud platforms, Industrial IoT Platforms, Edge Computing, Data Historians, Industrial Data Integration, Advanced Analytics Platforms)
- Software engineering & Development (i.e. Python, C#, API Integration, SQL and Databases, Dashboard Development, Automation Scripting, Data Visualization Tools)
- Cybersecurity (i.e. ISA/IEC 62443, OT Network Architecture, Industrial Cybersecurity Best Practices)
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and process control projects.
- Proven experience designing and delivering automation solutions in industrial environments.
- Experience working directly with customers and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
