About the role
American Express is seeking a Senior Manager to lead product development for its Token Services solutions in India, driving localized token capabilities that meet RBI regulatory requirements. The role sits within the payments and tokenization domain, delivering secure and scalable payment experiences across the Amex network. This position owns the product development agenda end to end — from roadmap and backlog management for scrum teams to stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and innovation strategy.
What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end development of token capabilities tailored to India’s regulatory landscape
- Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and features for scrum teams, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with compliance mandates
- Serve as the product owner for one or more scrum teams, managing backlogs, sprint planning, and feature prioritization.
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of token services
- Interface with internal risk, legal, and compliance teams to interpret and implement RBI directives
- Ensure all token services deployed in India meet PCI DSS, and RBI circular requirements
- Partner with global product leads, platform architects, and India-based operations teams to align on roadmap, dependencies, and delivery milestones
- Represent Token Services in cross-functional forums and regulatory reviews.
- Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development for India token services
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 8+ years of experience in product development, preferably in payments, fintech, or regulated financial services.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience writing user stories and managing scrum teams.
- Familiarity with RBI regulations, data localization frameworks, and tokenization technologies.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex products in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
