About the role
YouTube gives everyone a voice and builds community through stories, working at the intersection of technology and creativity. The OTT organization handles acquisition of video and metadata for YouTube's over-the-top offerings, as well as catalog quality and self-serve management tooling in YouTube Studio. This role directs a nearly 50-person organization, serves as senior site lead for OTT in Bengaluru, and partners with global platform and OTT leadership teams.
What you will do
- Direct a nearly 50-person organization overseeing acquisition of video and metadata for YouTube OTT. Act as a senior Site Lead for OTT in Bengaluru, collaborating cross-functionally (PM, UX, PgM) to drive site maturity, recruiting, and retention.
- Scale ambitious engineering solutions to help media companies grow on YouTube, leading shifts away from high-touch operations to self-serve management in YouTube Studio.
- Own global OTT catalog quality by defining metrics and driving solutions across detection and automation.
- Scale and mentor a high-velocity Bengaluru team that embodies YouTube’s core values and moved quickly (leveraging AI where appropriate).
- Build deep partnerships with OTT leadership in San Bruno/Mountain View and key global platforms (e.g., YouTube Studio, YouTube Commerce, YouTube Data).
Skills used in this role
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with systems engineering practices, including incident response, monitoring, service-level objectives, and change management.
- Experience in e-commerce or video/OTT.
