About the role
Arm is a semiconductor IP company, and this role sits within its physical implementation and timing signoff function in Bengaluru, working on static timing analysis for advanced technology nodes. The team develops and validates timing constraints, performs timing analysis and closure at block/subsystem level, and implements timing ECOs in collaboration with Physical Design, RTL/Design, DFT, and Constraint teams. The Senior Engineer will support timing signoff activities, generate and review timing reports across modes and corners, and debug timing and constraint issues.
What you will do
- Support timing constraints development and validation for functional and test modes
- Perform timing analysis and closure at block/subsystem level
- Analyze setup and hold timing violations and work with Physical Design and Design teams for closure
- Support timing ECO generation, implementation, and validation
- Generate and review timing reports across different modes and corners
- Support timing signoff activities and debug timing/constraint issues
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Good understanding of STA fundamentals, including setup/hold, clocking, timing exceptions, and timing constraints
- Hands-on experience with STA tools such as PrimeTime or Tempus
- Basic understanding of Physical Design flow, including placement, CTS, routing, and timing closure
- Understanding of timing ECO techniques such as cell sizing, buffering, and Vt swaps
- Exposure to multi-mode multi-corner (MMMC) timing analysis
- Knowledge of advanced technology nodes is preferred
- Good scripting skills in TCL, Perl, or Python
- Good data analysis and debugging skills
- Ability to collaborate with Physical Design, RTL/Design, DFT, and Constraint teams
- 2–4 years of experience in Physical Implementation, STA, or Timing Signoff
