About the role
Renesas is a global semiconductor company offering MCUs, SoCs, analog and power products for automotive, industrial, infrastructure and IoT markets. This role sits in high-voltage GaN new product development, coordinating multiple GaN engineering lots through wafer fab, packaging OSAT, testing OSAT and qualification while analyzing on-wafer and in-package test results. The position works cross-functionally with internal wafer foundry, quality and marketing teams plus external OSATs, closely interacting with teams in California, Japan and Southeast Asia.
What you will do
- Coordinate the movement of multiple GaN product engineering lots through wafer fab, assembly, and testing.
- Ensure timely project execution from start to finish.
- Allocate materials to meet qualification and customer sampling plans.
- Analyze on-wafer and in-package test results.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Drive root cause investigation for performance, quality or yield issues.
- Generate reports for internal and external communication.
- Maintain up-to-date GANTT charts with project schedule and negotiate priorities when needed.
- Track and communicate project status, key results, risks, and problems.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Master’s degree + 3 years of experience).
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing flow (wafer fab, probe, packaging and testing).
- Proficient in data manipulation and analysis skill.
- Familiar with JMP and MS Office.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional time management skill.
- Self-motivated and adaptable.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Expertise on GaN products and technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with reliability physics and failure analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with JEDEC and AEC-Q101 qualification standards is a plus.
