About the role
Ather Energy's Data Science & Analytics team works on data generated by the product and from other sources to build data-driven systems and support business decision making. The role sits within the electric-scooter and automotive product domain, covering machine learning models, analytics and visualization, and cloud-based data work. Reporting to the Head of Data Science & AI and based at IBC Knowledge Park, Bangalore, the Senior Data Scientist drives projects across teams, guides junior members, and implements solutions to upgrade legacy tech and improve automation.
What you will do
- Contribute to building a data driven culture by generating and implementing innovative data based systems
- Contribute to business by helping internal teams with analysis and modeling on data generated on the product and from other sources
- Contribute to business initiatives by finding opportunities and implementing solutions to upgrade legacy tech, improve performance, automation, etc.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Experience with building data science based products
- Experience with machine learning models, analytics, visualisation
- Fluency in one or more of Python, SQL, C++, Pyspark
- Fluency in working with cloud services, preferably GCP
- Ability to drive projects and work with multiple teams to ensure targets are met
- Ability to lead small teams
- Ability to guide junior members of the team on various problems that they are working on
- Quick learner who can pick up new tools, technologies, methodologies, ways of working
- Generating ideas, taking ownership and initiatives, and following them up
- Ability to think long term
- Comfortable riding scooters by oneself and valid license holder
- Familiarity with high school level physics
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering from a top tier institution
- 3+ yrs of relevant experience in the field of Data Science
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with cells, batteries, motors, and automotive systems
- Experience with control systems
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience with big data systems
- Experience with deep learning algorithms
- Experience across multiple business domains
- Experience with Databricks
