About the role
Mahindra Group's data function is responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining the organization's data architecture so that data assets are managed securely and effectively in support of business goals. The team works across cloud data platforms such as Google Cloud, Spark, BigQuery, SQL and Python, with experience in the Agri, Farm and Auto industries preferred. This Senior Data Engineer role will design and implement data architecture, develop data models and standards, lead and mentor a team of data engineers on pipelines and ETL solutions, and architect optimized large-scale data storage and retrieval systems.
What you will do
- The candidate is responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and maintaining an organization's data architecture.
- To ensure that the organization's data assets are managed effectively and efficiently, and that they are used to support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring that the organization's data is secure, and that appropriate data governance policies and procedures are in place to protect the organization's dataassets.Responsible for designing and implementing a data architecture that supports the organization's business goals and objectives.
- Developing data models, defining data standards and guidelines, and establishing processes for data integration, migration, and management.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in the design and development of datapipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solution
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, which are a comprehensive set of datadefinitions and metadata that provide context and understanding of the organization's data assets.
- Architect and optimize data storage and retrieval systems for large-scale dataprocessing
- Manage and prioritize projects, allocate resources, and track progress to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Work closely with other IT professionals, including database administrators, dataanalysts, and developers, to ensure that the organization's data architecture is integrated and aligned with other IT systems and applications.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and trends in data management and architecture and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's data architecture.
- Communicate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and ensure that the organization's data architecture is aligned with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Experience 5-8 years
- Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science Information Technology Data Science Engineering (any relevant discipline)
- Certifications in Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Databricks, Snowflake, or Data Engineering.
- Experience in Data Architecture and Engineering, Google Cloud, Spark, Machine Learning, Big query, SQL and Python
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
