About the role

This role sits within the security engineering team, focused on endpoint, server, network, and cloud security across AWS and GCP environments. The Senior Cloud Security Engineer will design and manage security controls, own security tools such as CNAPP, SIEM, firewalls, and WAF, lead security design reviews, drive hardening and automation, and support audit and compliance initiatives.
What you will do
- Design, implement, and manage security controls across enterprise environments, including endpoints, cloud platforms (Strong hands-on in AWS and GCP) and Server & Network infrastructure.
- Take ownership on security tools (CNAPP, SIEM, Network firewalls, WAF etc) and platforms, ensuring they are properly deployed, tuned, and continuously improved for effectiveness and scalability.
- Lead security design reviews for new and existing systems, providing clear guidance to ensure secure architecture on cloud environments.
- Conduct in-depth security assessments, risk analysis, and control validation; prioritize and track remediation efforts to closure.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to actively closing the misconfigurations, providing solutions & integrate security requirements into system design, development, and deployment processes.
- Define, implement, and enforce configuration baselines, hardening standards, and security best practices across enterprise assets.
- Drive implementation and optimization of security technologies such as firewalls, WAF, IAM, and API security solutions.
- Perform threat modelling and proactively identify gaps in security posture based on evolving threat scenarios.
- Provide monitoring & remediation workflows guidance to security operations team to effectively handle the incidents & fine tuning the alerts.
- Support and contribute to audit and compliance initiatives by ensuring systems meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
- Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort in security operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to skill development within the security engineering team.
- Take ownership of assigned security domains or projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable impact.
- Evaluate and secure enterprise adoption of AI/ML-enabled tools by assessing risks such as data exposure, misuse, and adversarial inputs, and implementing appropriate controls.

What the employer is looking for
- 4 to 7 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Proven experience designing and implementing security controls across enterprise environments, including endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud, with a solid understanding of cloud-native security services and architecture.
- Deep understanding of core security domains, including network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, application/API security, and data protection.
- Practical experience with enterprise security technologies such as firewalls, WAF, VPNs, IDS/IPS, , IAM solutions, and API gateways.
- Strong knowledge of system hardening, vulnerability management, and secure configuration practices aligned with industry benchmarks (e.g., CIS).
- Working knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/27002, CIS Controls, and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to improve security workflows and integrations.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD security, and infrastructure-as-code security controls.
- Understanding Zero Trust principles and layered security architectures.
- Ability to independently assess risks, prioritize issues, and drive remediation with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams and influence security outcomes.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, SSCP or cloud security certifications (AWS SAA/CSS), GCP(PCSE) are preferred.
- Understanding AI/ML-related security risks, including data leakage, model manipulation, and misuse scenarios, along with approaches to mitigate them.
