About the role
The Webex Data Analytics Platform (WAP) engineering organization is responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning for the collaboration group's data infrastructure services, handling very high volumes of incoming data per day. The team operates with an operations/infrastructure/everything-as-code philosophy across public, private, and hybrid cloud. This role builds, deploys, and maintains applications on that infrastructure, automates scaling, participates in 24x7 incident response, and implements observability, capacity planning, and security hardening.
What you will do
- Build, deploy, and maintain applications in public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Automate wherever possible, enabling our infrastructure and platforms to scale effortlessly.
- Participate in and contribute to improving our 24x7 incident response and on-call rotation.
- Capacity planning for the infrastructure and platform to help teams prepare for growth.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across our infrastructure and platform services.
- Implement observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Contribute to infrastructure security hardening and compliance initiatives.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- At least 8+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering role.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi.
- Strong experience with public and private cloud providers like AWS, OpenStack.
- Experience with orchestration and management tools: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Harness.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch).
- Familiarity using AI Tools for debugging and development (CoPilot, Cursor, Codex)
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Cilium).
- Knowledge of secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
- Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch).
- Familiarity with event streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).
