About the role

The engineering team this role joins builds scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, Fastify and Python. The Senior Backend Engineer will design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices, work with SQL/NoSQL databases and messaging systems, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
What you will do
- Design and develop robust RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js and Fastify
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in JavaScript and Python
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers
- Implement automated tests to ensure high code quality
- Optimize backend performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging systems
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team members
- Contribute to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments
Skills used in this role

- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (Node.js, Fastify) and Python
- Experience building APIs, microservices, event-driven or distributed systems
- Good understanding of REST, HTTP, and WebSockets
- Familiarity with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redis
- Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT)
