About the role
The role sits within IBM's Infrastructure & Technology organization, on the Container Security squad that builds and operates container security services in the cloud. The team focuses on microservice-based, containerized platforms running on Kubernetes/OpenShift and on DevSecOps practices such as vulnerability scanning, threat modelling and secure code review. This DevOps Developer role involves designing and delivering tailored solutions, managing cloud deployment and operations of these services, and supporting internal users.
What you will do
- As a DevOps Developer on the Container Security squad, you will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored solutions, managing the deployment and operation of these services in the cloud, and providing top-tier support to our internal users.
- This role requires strong DevOps expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
- A passion for solving complex problems and delivering reliable, secure solutions is essential.
- Performing DevSecOps practices -including scanning repositories for security vulnerabilities, early threat modelling, security design reviews, static code analysis, and code reviews
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Experience with microservice architectures and Restful API development
- Experience with using Container Tools such as Docker, Podman, Rancher
- Experience on Kubernetes/ OpenShift deployments
- Demonstrated development experience using any combination of the following : Java, Python, nodejs, bash scripting, C++, Go
- Experience using centralized source code repository with version control such as Git
- Understanding of Core Networking Concepts - TCP/IP stack , subnets and routing
- Agile development process knowledge
- Effective communication skills & customer focused
Preferred qualifications
- Experienced in building CI/CD pipelines
- Experienced with tuning application performance, as well as writing unit and integration automated tests
- Experience with Database technologies such as NoSQL, SQL, Database schema design
- Familiar with Swagger, OpenAPI
- Familiarity using Container Security tools such as Prisma Cloud & AquaSec
