About the role
Ather Energy's ERP product & system team builds the digital backbone for manufacturing, controlling and optimizing the production environment. This SAP S/4HANA PP/QM consultant role will design and configure manufacturing planning, scheduling, shop floor control, and quality management processes. The consultant will also manage cross-module integrations, MES interfaces, custom development specifications, testing, documentation, and production support.
What you will do
- Planning & Demand: Lead configuration of demand management, planning strategies (MTS/MTO), and execute/monitor MRP Live for component availability.
- Scheduling & Capacity: Design and implement Production Scheduling and Capacity Leveling solutions, leveraging embedded PP/DS knowledge for resource optimization.
- Shop Floor Control & MES: Configure core production master data and manage the full production order lifecycle. Define data exchange standards and interfaces for MES integration.
- Manufacturing Models: Implement discrete manufacturing models (repetitive manufacturing knowledge is a plus).
- Quality Planning: Lead configuration of all core QM master data
- Quality Execution: Manage inspection lot creation (GR, In-Process, Final), results recording, and usage decision processes.
- Cross-Module Integration: Manage critical integration points between PP/QM and other modules: Controlling (CO), MM, SD, and WM/EWM for material staging.
- Custom Development: Author detailed functional specifications (RICEFW) for custom reports/interfaces (BAPI/BADI/IDoc/OData), collaborating with ABAP developers.
- Expert Support: Provide expert-level production support by troubleshooting complex issues related to production orders, staging, inspection lots, and cost settlement.
- Testing & Documentation: Lead SIT/UAT for end-to-end scenarios and develop comprehensive configuration/training documentation.

What the employer is looking for
- PP/QM Mastery: Deep configuration experience across all core PP and QM areas, including MRP parameters, Production Master Data, and Inspection/Notification processing.
- Advanced Manufacturing: Expertise in discrete manufacturing, Rework Order management, Batch determination, and KANBAN methodology.
- Process Analysis & Design: Proven ability to map complex manufacturing and quality processes to SAP S/4HANA standards. Must be comfortable leading workshops and writing detailed functional specifications (BADI, Exit, Enhancement Spots).
- S/4HANA Context: Familiarity with the S/4HANA roadmap, including MRP Live, pMRP, embedded FMEA, and the use of relevant Fiori apps for both PP and QM.
- Integration Expertise: Strong understanding of PP/QM integration with MM, CO, SD, and WM/EWM, and proficiency in integration methods (IDoc, OData, Proxies).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the SAP technical framework. Knowledge of ABAP debugging in the PP/QM landscape for analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP PP/QM Functional Consultant with PP as the primary focus in at least one full-cycle S/4 HANA implementation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Official SAP Certification in S/4HANA Production Planning or Quality Management (Added advantage)
- Hands-on experience with embedded Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) or SAP IBP is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Proven experience integrating SAP PP with external MES/Shop Floor control systems.
