About the role
Honeywell India Technology Center in Gurugram advances Honeywell UOP's technology portfolio spanning refining, petrochemical, and natural gas processing industries. The group works on process engineering fundamentals, pilot plant testing, process modeling, and catalyst and adsorbent technologies to develop sustainable and efficient industrial processes. This role leads and supports new product development, designs and troubleshoots laboratory and pilot plant experiments, and collaborates with global R&D and Technical Services teams.
What you will do
- Lead and support new product development initiatives for technologies serving the refining, petrochemical, and natural gas processing industries.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot laboratory and pilot plant experiments, independently analyze results, and effectively communicate findings to global stakeholders.
- Apply strong engineering and scientific fundamentals to solve technical challenges and generate innovative ideas aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with global R&D and Technical Services teams to develop and enhance process design guidelines and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate patents, technical publications, and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and maintain technical competitiveness.
- Foster strong collaboration across global R&D centers to leverage shared learnings, eliminate duplication of effort, and maximize project efficiency.
- Utilize Six Sigma methodologies and statistical tools to drive data-based decision making and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to additional technical and project activities as required to support organizational goals.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and laboratory operational standards.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- PhD/M. Tech in Chemical Engineering OR PhD/M. Sc in Chemistry with 1-3 years' experience in adsorbent/heterogeneous catalyst synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation. Advanced degrees are desirable.
- Experience in UniSim and ASPEN is plus.
- Knowledge of UOP technologies: Refining/Petrochemicals/Gas Processing applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong demonstration of teamwork abilities.
- Ideal candidate should have an aptitude to work in R & D setting and have a bias for action.
- Ability to travel up to 10% on an annual basis.
- Familiar with Six-Sigma tools and their application.
