About the role
Tata Elxsi is hiring a Python Automation Testing engineer for network test automation. The role involves building test frameworks using Cisco pyATS, Robot Framework, and Playwright for Layer 2/Layer 3 routing, switching, and network protocol validation. The engineer will automate functional, regression, and end-to-end tests and integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
- Build and enhance network test automation frameworks using Cisco pyATS, Robot Framework, and Playwright.
- Develop automated test cases for Layer 2, Layer 3, routing, switching, and network protocol validation.
- Automate functional, regression, sanity, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and collaborate with development teams for issue resolution.
- Validate network device configurations and performance across various networking environments.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation documentation.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve test coverage and quality.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Strong experience in Networking Fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS).
- Proficiency in Python Programming and automation scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco pyATS.
- Experience with Robot Framework and/or Playwright.
- Knowledge of network testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of automation frameworks and test methodologies.
- Experience with Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with REST APIs and API automation.
- Knowledge of SDN, NFV, Cloud Networking, or Network Security concepts.
- Exposure to Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or other networking platforms.
- Experience in telecom, enterprise networking, or service provider domains.
