About the role
Digital Solutions is responsible for the strategy, governance, enablement, and operational management of BlackRock's enterprise collaboration and content-management technologies, with Collaboration Solutions managing platforms including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Box, NetDocuments, and Atlassian Confluence. The Product Specialist / Platform Engineer for Atlassian Confluence Cloud combines product ownership with hands-on platform engineering, configuring, administering, testing, and troubleshooting the firmwide service. The role partners with Valiantys on the migration from Confluence Data Center to Confluence Cloud and takes on knowledge transfer, validation, stabilization, and the transition to Digital Workplace ownership.
What you will do
- Serve as the Digital Workplace Product Specialist and technical SME for Atlassian Confluence Cloud.
- Gather business, user, support, and control requirements and translate them into prioritized platform solutions.
- Manage backlog priorities, enhancement requests, risks, dependencies, roadmap inputs, and vendor follow-ups.
- Partner with Aladdin stakeholders and other firmwide users to improve usability, supportability, governance, and service value.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define Day 2 operating processes, service measures, ownership boundaries, and continuous-improvement priorities.
- Configure and administer Confluence Cloud spaces, permissions, groups, roles, workflows, security settings, and tenant-level controls.
- Own hands-on configuration across Atlassian Administration, Confluence Cloud, Atlassian Guard, SSO, SAML, SCIM, and Microsoft Entra ID integrations.
- Evaluate, configure, administer, upgrade, and troubleshoot Atlassian Marketplace apps and third-party integrations.
- Perform root-cause analysis, testing, remediation, and vendor escalation for platform, access, integration, and configuration issues.
- Maintain technical standards, configuration baselines, runbooks, support procedures, knowledge articles, and operational evidence.
- Partner with Valiantys and the migration team on knowledge transfer, technical validation, user acceptance testing, cutover readiness, and handoff.
- Validate migrated spaces, permissions, groups, apps, integrations, administrative settings, and expected user experiences.
- Support hypercare, issue triage, defect prioritization, post-migration stabilization, and the transition to steady-state support.
- Assess differences between Confluence Data Center and Confluence Cloud and translate them into configuration, support, and governance requirements.
- Capture decisions, known issues, exception processes, dependencies, and operational knowledge needed for sustainable Day 2 ownership.
- Design and maintain scalable permission, administrative access, group-management, and role-based access models.
- Partner with AIM and identity teams on provisioning, deprovisioning, privileged access, recertification, and ServiceNow request processes.
- Support Marketplace app inventory, licensing, data-access analysis, security review, ownership, and lifecycle governance.
- Coordinate audit logging, monitoring, change control, control evidence, risk remediation, and compliance activities.
- Prepare Service Desk and specialized support teams with knowledge articles, escalation paths, known-issue guidance, and support-transition materials.
- Use incidents, support trends, stakeholder feedback, platform analytics, and vendor roadmaps to identify improvement opportunities.
- Recommend practical solutions that balance user value, configuration complexity, security, supportability, cost, and risk.
- Coordinate Atlassian and partner engagements, track commitments, and ensure technical and operational follow-through.
- Provide concise status, risk, decision, and roadmap updates to the Product Owner and portfolio leadership.
- Test new features and configuration changes before broad implementation and document support and governance impacts.
- Work closely with Product Owners, SaaS application owners, Engineering, Aladdin stakeholders, Information Security, AIM, Cyber Diligence, Service Management, and support teams.
- Facilitate technical and product discussions and reconcile competing user, engineering, governance, and operational requirements.
- Represent Digital Workplace in migration, readiness, architecture, security, vendor, and post-implementation reviews.
- Communicate clearly with business users, administrators, engineers, vendors, control partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Act as the accountable technical partner for Confluence configuration, operational health, and continuous service improvement.
